Robert (Bob) Champagne, Secretary
Bob started visiting Sarasota Lakes Co-Op in 1996. He and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 56 years in April and decided to become shareholders of Lot 417 in 1998. They decided to put a park model and screen room on the site in 2002 because they enjoyed the activities, people and well-kept park. Bob retired from Ford Motor Co. after 38 years working as a plumber/pipe fitter and union representative. He was born in Detroit, MI and lived there his whole life. Bob and Sharon raised 3 boys; 2 still live in Michigan and one in Florida. Bob has also served on the Sarasota Lakes Board over the years in various positions.
Thomas (Tom) Holst, Vice President
Tom is from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He is a retired medical and scientific equipment salesman. His wife, Sherry, is a retired public school music teacher. Tom and Sherry discovered Sarasota Lakes in 2006 and have never wanted to stay anywhere else in Florida since. They participate in tennis, golf, exercise and horseshoes. They also love hot dog Wednesdays and pot lucks. Tom's experience includes 6 years on the Doylestown Township Planning Board as well as serving as the VP, Treasurer and Board Member of the Buckingham Racquet Club.
Larry Bartol, President
Larry is married to Annette "Al" Bartol and lives in Florence, SC. They have 5 children and 4 grandchildren. Larry has been a State Farm Insurance Agent for the past 35 years. He also owns Jubal Properties Inc., a residential and commercial property holding company. He has been the past President of the Florence Breakfast Rotary Club, Past Grand Knight of The Knights of Columbus and Past President of St. Anthony Parish Council. Larry served 8 years on the Board of Directors of the Water's Edge Resort in Garden City, SC, an ocean front 165 unit high rise. Currently the President of The Country Club of SC HOA, he and Annette are also avid Clemson University football fans.
Betty Vesper, Treasurer
Born and raised in Georgia, she married Robert Vesper after graduating from Barrett School of Nursing. Most of their married life they lived in Cincinnati, Ohio. They have been coming to Sarasota Lakes for the past 21 years, and bought Lot 27 in 2004. Betty has chaired many activities in the park and currently helps run the bingo and card bingo year round.
